Scarsdale resurfacing contractor, PCI Industries announced that it is scheduled to begin resurfacing work on Depot Place, Garth Road and Freightway, including the alleyway adjacent to the parking garage.
The work is scheduled to begin in earnest around Monday, May 14, though preliminary work began this week. Crews will be performed between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. for several days to “minimize the disturbance to local merchants, commuters and pedestrians.”
Officials said that the village anticipates one night to prepare and two nights to resurface. Work dates and hours will be posted on temporary “No Parking” signs installed along each road and adjacent roads.
Preparation work involves the adjustment of manhole and road drain castings along with the cold milling or removal of the existing top layer of asphalt along the curb line in select areas to profile the roadway. The roadways will be paved the day after being cold milled, weather permitting. “
“During paving operation, sections of each road will be closed or limited to traffic, including adjacent off-street parking stalls. Village staff will be onsite during the paving operation to assist the contractor with traffic and parking control operations.”
